Enalim: the rise of Vesnu

You are Lydell, a former apprentice to the Necromancer. Your quest to restore an ancient order leads you on a vast adventure over the land of Enalim (and beyond). While your enemies are many, a few steadfast companions help ease the burden of your task. Will you vanquish those seeking your ruin and learn the truth about your destiny?

Enalim is an an isometric, story-driven, retro rpg. The adventure takes place in a single, large, open world populated by both helpful npc-s as well as a variety of hostile creatures. You will travel on foot, teleport around and maybe even fly above the mountain peaks as you unravel the mystery of the land's pending doom.

Enalim is currently in development. The downloadable binaries on this page are generated automatically for every update to the source code.

Installation Instructions:

Download the file for your OS and double click to unzip. On Windows the app can be launched by clicking enalim.exe. 

On the mac, you can run the .dmg version by clicking the icon as usual.

To run the .zip version on the mac, you need to start the game from the command line. Cd to its location and run it via: ./enalim

In both cases,  you will need to "allow" the OS to run the app by going to the "System Preferences / Security and Privacy / General / Allow Apps Downloaded From" section.

Controls for keyboard + mouse:

• Movement: cursor keys or WASD or click mouse in a direction
• Open / interact: space
• Exit / close ui: Escape
• Inventory: I or click the bag icon from equipment
• Combat / magic: Y or click on enemy
• You can optionally drag items from the map and inventory

Controls for gamepad (if recognized)

• Navigation: stick / d-pad
• open / interact: A / circle
• Exit / close: B / cross
• Inventory: bumper
• Combat / magic: Y

If you get stuck, here is a walkthrough, complete with armor/weapons, monsters and spells tables. Obviously, do not read if you don't want to ruin the fun of figuring the puzzles out on your own. Enalim walkthrough
